HEllo peeps

my p reg cinq sporting is a tad ill at the moment, after a run from Reading to Wales i noticed tha car wasnt pulling as it should and there was a small squeek when pulling away.
After a few moments of looking for a big mouse i thought id have a look at the rear wheels to see if the hand break is stuck on .
the driver side rear wheel was hot to touch and the drum was roasting , hot enough to bubble when water was dropped on it  im guessing that the handbreak isnt fully doing its job of letting go when the lever is droped ?

any idea if this is the cause ?

i dont want to trow yet more money at a silly problem .

Im also getting a nasty vibration when i pull away , could this be due to the extra friction from the breaks being part on all of the time ??? or do i have an engine mount on the way out too ?

any help would be great

Thanks

thanks for the help , it looks as though i may have to strip them but .
bye bye weekend

Yeah try not to drive it too far if the handbrake is seized. Firstly it will wear you drums and shoes out. Also if it keeps getting that hot i hear it is possible to boil/burn all the grease from the wheel bearing.

it only got that hot on the long distance run at 80 mph, local travel is ok and it doesnt get hot but i know its sticking .

cheers for the help
