Technical What do I change Cam Belt??

Hi Everyone

My Sei, has done 38k, someone told me that I need to change my belts at 40k, is this correct??

I believe so. I have a cinq sporting and I have had a new cambelt fitted today - thought it was about time cos the car has done 67,777, with no record of a previous cam change. 40,000 is the usual.

Sounds about right, I bought my Sei with 42k on the clock with no history of it having been done and it'll be one of the first things I do when I get the time to service it...

Better to do it and know when it was done than leave it to chance.

FIAT schedule is 72k but widely accepted that it needs to be 36k

no damage will occur if it snaps though as the Fire 1108 is a non-interference engine (the valves wont hit pistons)

i knew that but was thinking, if u put a punto 75 cam on the cinq is it still a "safe" engine if the cambelt snaps?
