does anyone have one for sale? i think the one on my cinq is fooked.. needle actually got upto the 130 mark today in traffic (at which point i turned the engine off and sat there till it cooled down)...

fan doesnt turn on and ive done the fan switch test (bridge the wire gap on the connector) and the fan still doesnt spin up so im guessing its buggered. on further inspection i found that the fan was kinda stuck and needed force to make it turn.. so maybe in the past it has got stuck and burnt the motor out trying to make it turn.

anyone got a working spare?

thanks

sure there is only 3 or 4 bolts holding it to rad, just unbolt and it pulls off
dead easy had to do mine somehow bent one of blades and was catching, hmmmm country lanes and rabbits me thinks

same thing happened to mine bushboy, i still havn't replaced it, it hits 130 on the mway quiet alot which is scary as hell...
scrapyard near me want a tenner for the whole fan

overheating a FIRE engine is grand way to blow the headgasket - do it often enough, you may even warp the head too (y)

I need a new rad, mine sat at 90 on the way to m'chester the other night. too hot imo

Good advice, I wouldn't drive the car if it was over heating. Its alot cheaper to get it fixed, before you blow the head gasket :(

Its not actually that simple to get the fan off - im not ebign a girl here. theres a pin holding it to be rad and no one can work out how to get it off?

I was planning on keeping my original fan off my split rad and swapping it to daves rad because we didnt want to put daves rad on the car to find the fan didnt work.

there shouldnt be a pin, when i changed the rad it just unbolted.not a rusted bolt?

EDIT: haynes states 3(10mm IIRC)bolts

the bolts are off but theres still something holding it. It wasnt rusted.

There's only four bolts holding it on - give it a gentle whack with sommet (the fan housing - not the radiator!)

Hmm, i'll have another look tomorrow! i could do with it off anyway.
