If you tell them what you're trying to do/compression you're trying to reach they may help you spec them, otherwise you may have to do the Math yourself. I'm sure a goup buy could be on the cards if a good design is reached, I fancy a set myself and maybe a few other turbo owners would too if the price is right.
The site for Ross has some details of the specs they require. Anyone with two braincells to rub together would look at a full floating design, which, essentially, means new rods (stock ones don't have enough meat to take a small end bearing).
They were advertising 16v turbo pistons with rods for < £600 but they don't seem to be listing anymore. I'm guessing a quick email to them will answer any questions you have and can't see an 8v set being more. I'd use whatever they recommend, after all this is what they do...
Edit:
They infact have pistons listed for a 1.1 turbo:
500/600 1.1 Sport. Turbo
Standard: ø 70
Mod: ø 70.5 - 70.8 - 71 - 71.2
And non turbo for the 1.2 Punto so I'm sure they know exactly what's needed.
With regards to the engine itself does it matter which 1242 mpi you start with? Must it be a p75? cam sensor or not? I will be using det3 to run the injectors if that changes anything.
16v rods and pistons or just the pistons? Can you use a 16v block or does that not lower the compression at all? Are there differences with oil pick ups? Is it true that only the p75 engines have squirters?
A lot of questions I know, I have read through most of the turbo threads and I appreciate most of this is covered in different areas but whilst a lot of the wise turbo guys are on one thread it's an opportunity not to be missed!
