Has anyone tried to add the new 1.4 16V 135HP Multiair engine on a Seicento?
Do you also know if it fits fine like the T-JET motor?
 
I think the question about mechanics is to be asked a later stage. The first one that you should be bothered about is engine control...
 
Is anyone up to this???I really want to know because i can get a complete 1.4 16v 135hp Multiair engine for 1000 euro from a friend who crashed his Alfa Romeo Mito(8.500km).Right now i have a 1.4 16v engine from Fiat Stilo which i was about to put in my Sei...but Multiair engine made me think better before coverting my sei to 1.4 16V N/A.
 
I would be, if I had a healthy CC/SC shell, the engine, the complete loom from the donor car and all the ECUs. And some spare time...

I guess you are too lazy to do your homework (I don't blame you) - this engine does not have a throttle body, the engine output is steered by controlling hydraulic valve gadetry. So for starters you would need drive-by-wire accelerator pedal, and there is no way around it, and then convince the (very picky I presume) MultiAir ECU to work in a different than original environment. And I don't believe there would be a standalone system that could handle this, but I stand to be corrected.
 
Would be interested in seeing a thread for the fitting of the T jet into a Sei!
 
Probably are aftermarket ECUs with the capacity to do it, problem is that the system is too new for anyone to have developed drivers or software and, with the 16v, any errors are likely to bend valves.

You might like to eMail Emerald with a technical description of Twin Air and see what Dave Walker and all say: they have developed stuff for 5 cylinder engines and FBW in the recent past.

Is 135bhp realistic?

Depending on what they say, you'll probably be stuck with a mere 110 or so from the Stilo/Idea lump.
 
135hp is a lot more realistic than 95hp!It's a brand new engine with a turbo and with double the torque of the N/A 1.4 16v.With a little ECU tune i am sure you can get it up to 170hp and then i think that this would be more than enough.

The only reason i started this topic is because i can get this engine at a very good price.So if you could please learn some info about it please tell me as soon as possible.

Forget about the bargain engine and thoughts of 170bhp and an "ecu tune-up" until youve figured out how you are going to overcome the above obstacles

If you could get the engine and strip out everything from donor auto as well you would need to store undamaged and wait until 3rd party prototyped the exercise for you...
this might not happen
but you could sell the bits maybe at profit
following a prototype could be well expensive the last few bhp are never cheap so are you rich?
 
Are you sure this is a Twin Air and not a T Jet?

Twin Airs have wierd hydraulically operated valves (a sort of camless, hydraulic system, trying to do Desmodromics on the cheap) on one bank, while the T Jets are turbo developments of the Stilo/Idea engine (as seen in the 500 Abarth, Punto Abarth, etc).

T Jet Centos are known to exist in Poland, and, I think, there's one in France. Any decent aftermarket ECU will run them .

Note, though, that the Punto Abarth (and the Mito is just a Punto in drag) uses a different gearbox (actually, one of two different 6 speed gearboxes) to the 500 Abarth (5 speed Alfa box) -- turbo torque at Abarth 500 levels will probably destroy a 1108 FIRE box (C514) pretty quickly. For space reasons the old Alfa 5 speed box is the one to go for.

The turbo on the T Jet engines poses further space issues. Ideally, find something else, mount it above the gearbox.

Much of this has been documented here in various posts (even with photos). A search should find.

Yes,i was talking about the new multiair engines.I know about the T-Jet centos. There are 3 T-jet centos here in Greece and highly tuned.I just asked without knowing much about the new Multiair Technology.

So for now it is just impossible as there is no throttlebody and electronics are totaly different.Ok.

*T-jet conversion for 3k euros possible?Here in Greece it costs about 5k euros.
