I have a Cinquecento sporting 1.1, there is water flooding out from the righthand side of the engine where the clutch plate sits (I think) it is definatley near where the gearbox joins the engine. Are there any hoses or core plugs that may have come loose or corroded as the core plug on the otherside of the engine and radiator have been replaced.

The water comes out instantly as soon as the coolant bottle is filled, I can not see any gunk under the oil cap so don't think it is the head gasket but as I repair computers for a living cars are not my forte.

Thanks for the help in advance

Steve

There is not any water coming from the hose (found it), I have noticed that the water looks to be coming from inside the plate attached to the gearbox about 1 foot below the hose, when I fill the coolant level up the water does not completly empty from the engine I can not see what is behind the plate though to find out where the problem is.

Is there any coolant mixed with the oil. I took a look at a block i have sitting in my garage and couldn't find anything that may leak below the themostat housing, unless it's coming from the front or something behind the flywheel:confused:

is there a core plug behind the flywheel? i think so, so could be that :(

It's been a while since i've actually stared at the space behind the flywheel (now i stare in to space and scratch my head to see where there is another bit of hp hidding:eek: ), tonight i'm taking the rest of that engine apart so i'll take a look, i'm rebuilding this one with forged pistons;)

Cheers for all the help with this problem

Next question if it is a core plug behind the flywheel, how difficult is it to replace? Are we talking a complete engine removal or if the car is on ramps can I just loosen the required parts enough to replace the part.

Steve

Yes, there is a core plug just above the flywheel area, i think it can be fixed with the tranny on but i'm not sure since i didn't have a tranny nearby;) .

Here's the pic i said i would take, this is on the 1108 SPI and the two srew holes seen are the tranny mounting;) .
