Hi
Seicento 899cc V reg UK.
I am trying to remove/replace the front RH external window scraper. In the w/shop manual it shows a window scraper removing knife, has anyone any idea what this looks like, or advise of something I could use. Perhaps someone has one and could send a picture of it. Any input how to remove the window scraper will be gratefully received.

Scraper? Do you mean the rubber strip thing? If so yank it off starting at the front end, and slide the new one in from the back. You need plenty of silicone spray or a light oil will do. As it slides on use something flat like to keep it in the groove

Hi

If it is leaking I use a liquid sealant dribbled unto the gap between the rubber and the metal all the way round.

This is normally a complete cure.

Yes, it is the whole thing, plastic bit, rubber insert etc, cost about £18 from a Fiat garage. Looking at the new one the plastic bit hooks under a lip in the door making it impossible to pull out without first releasing it one end with the removing knife. Looking at the workshop manual only the inner scraper rubber insert can be changed by the sliding in out method. It looks a very simple job if I could see what the removal tool looks like. My local Fiat garage are not very helpful.

The rubber has pulled out of it's slot in a couple of places. It was like it when I got the car. I will have another look to see if I can do as suggested by sliding the rubber in.

I am in Eastbourne. Had a look at what was suggested about sliding the rubber in and it looks feasible. I took the fart to have its gearbox and diff reconditioned today so will have to wait until I get it back. It will cost a few shillings but as everything else on it is ok I feel it is worth the expense. I only use it as a runabout, my main car is a Peugeot Expert Montana 1998cc HDI diesel which is adapted for wheelchair use.
Just one more thing, whenever it is cold and damp in the mornings the battery appears to be dead, (all other times it is ok) nothing happens when ignition key is turned, if I give it a 100amp quick charge for 5 minutes, and then start using the start selection on the charger it starts without any problem and the battery seems to be ok. Could it be the battery is on it's way out, or , are there any other known reasons why the battery appears to be dead?
