Ah no, I'll definitely finish the project regardless of what people say (no offence to anyone)
Although I do appreciate everybodys input on this :)

And as for cheap cinqs, I picked up a 97 Cinq for €80. I sold it for €160, because thats all its worth. Well, its worth a little more than that but they are cheap.

People just choose puntos over Cinqs and Seis.

Good luck with it mate. I'm watching and hoping it all goes well! Just seems there may be a few over sensitive people on here, so if anyone's offended by my straight talking then they shouldn't be...

Out of interest, what are you advertising?

Cheers :) I certainly haven't been offended anyway :)

Advertising my mates garage :)

As a static advert, it'll look OK but - and this is just me thinking out loud - if a garage was using a car that didn't/couldn't move and hadn't been modified properly as an advert, I wouldn't use them.

Would look real good lengthened though, and as a project purely for fun, I'm sure it's providing plenty of that (y)

I thought it was a little short too, hence me suggesting cutting it further, done properly either way would make a good advert though. May attempt something myself for my work but it would have to be road legal as it would be on the road somewhere

Point to note, we do flooring not anything to do with cars ;)

The car will never, ever be on a road again. Its going to be outside, on a forecourt, on a ramp. So legalizing would just be a waste of time and money. And not many people will realise its not legal, and braces haven't been tacked it etc Its just going to be used to attract attention, which I hope it does :)

^^ this is bang on my opinion, no offence. It will catch eyes though no doubt though - I'm just hoping its not a bodyshop tbh, no way i would leave my car with a company which had a bodged pick-up conversion outside as advertising!

No its not a bodyshop. If it was a bodyshop I doubt the owner would have rushed it along like this, lol! :p

Would like nice a little longer alright but again, a waste of time and money (imo)

The next project will be done to a much, much, much better quality.

I think we're going to spray it orange with red sign writing on the sides too :)

I like it, good on you, it's a bit of fun! I reckon a revolving neon sign out the middle of the pickup deck would attract attention!

So we decided to go along with it. We're making a Seicento pickup. I;ll update this thread with everything that goes on in the next month or two.

The car
A 2002 Fiat Seicento with 30k on the clock. Its been sitting up for nearly two years. Ideally wanted a Cinq but this was much cheaper than any of the Cinqs on the net at the time.

^Need to source a wing..

A clean enough car, apart from the dent on the wing. 4 original hubcaps, original spare wheel. Old handbooks and service manual too.

Starting

Anyway, first thing we done was strip the back. Rear windows and bootlid off. Rear seats pushed forward out of the way.

Next we marked out where we wanted cut. Two sides and roof.

Then we dived straight in and started cutting! :D

Done all of this in a little under 30 hours and left it at that for the first day.

Tomorrow we'll strip out the interior completely. Changing the seats out for those half leather/bucket seats from a Laguna, like these;

If these don't fit, was thinking of a bench seat going right across and moving the handbrake and centre console forward a bit.

Anyway, thats todays work. Will keep this updated.
and this is why photos should be attached or use fiat forum gallery threads useless now :(
