Prep for Winter

Right my Cinq's gonna be tucked up in the garage over winter. Just wondering if anyone can recommend anything I should do.

Thinking of chocking it and taking the hand break off so it doesn't stick or stretch the cable or something. Also gonna clean and polish it etc Anything else I should do?

Cheers

I wouldn't bother with fuel stabiliser myself, just leave it in there with as little fuel as possible, so it'll all be fresh on first fill up when you use it again.

You don't have to cancel insurance if the car is SORN, not sure why you've been advised that, you'll still want cover for FIRE/Theft/Storm damage etc when its away in your garage I take it?

Re: Prep for Winter

a battery charger that is intelligent...... Basic ones just shove a set ampage say 10 amp will take 7 hours to charge a 70ah battery but if you leave it, it will boil the battery dry and kill it... Smart ones will use a microprocessor to optimize charge rate and cut out and float charge to keep the battery topped up without managing to boil it Google ctec

I'd call them back and question that John, ask how you get cover for theft etc if thats the case.

Re: Prep for Winter

I Use a cTek one like that above. you leave it on as long as you like. I keep the batteries topped up on project cars. Thoroughly recommend that brand.
