did enyone a engine swap with a punto mk2 1.2 16v 6speed from 2001?
with the origional punto wiring

i already have a punto mk1 intake manifold and trottle to replace the electronic trottle for a mechanic trottle.

are there more things wat needed to change? and witch parts do i need from the cinquecento spoting abarth and what from a punto and what do i need more

thnx

Im going to subscribe to this, because im about to do the same........... i know theres poeple on here that have done it............. anyone want to chime in ? (y)

Hi,

I think this will be said by people on here, the information is already out there. (Well a lot of it anyway) If you look in the guides section then you will see someone (Dan?) has already written a guide showing how to fit the 1.4 16V which is same process as the 1.2.

The only thing that may be an issue is the wiring as he describes using the D4 connector in the engine bay. It connects the engine loom to the rest of the car I think. However on my MPI seicento this is not present And I have not figured out the best way forward.

I could go fully aftermarket, Megasquirt etc. Or I could use the Punto ecu and wiring or finally use the Seicento wiring (I think most of it compatable) and then use a DET 3(as per honey monsters thread) to piggyback onto the Seicento ecu to allow me to adjust the fuelling and timing to suit the 16V engine.

The ECU in my car should be able to run the engine on its own but not to its best potential.

As I understand it that's the easy part . The 16v engine will fit on the 1.1 doubts in the engine bay. You will have to make a spacer to give the alternator enough clearance. If you take the driveshaft cups out of the 1.1 gearbox you can fit them to the 16v gearbox this allows you to use the cent driveshafts etc.

I think the gearlinkage will fit but if not you can swop the top plates over to make it work. You may also have to swop over the clutch arm. Use a .mk 1 punto sporting inlet to allow you to fit a throttle cable.

Not certain on exhaust manifolds but I think a .mk 1 punto will eek in.

Seriously this is all in that guide the only bit that isn't clear is the wiring and that's only because I have an mpi sei.

I personally would get a mk 1 punto sporting donor and move all the bits across.

im still collecting some parts for the swap. i got the intake and the meganic trottle boddy a fuel pressor regulator. and the punto engine is almost out the car...

but what about the ecu and the wiring... there are going around 25wires to the ecu...

do i need the punto 85 ecu with wiring? ore punto 75... and what about the key?

the wiring is the only big problem for me i still read meany on the forum but english is hard to understand for me

thanks for some of my questions!

get P85 ecu, code box, key, wiring loom. Then cut and match the wire up to the cinquecento in car loom at the d4.

Ming

what is the code box ? and the d4 is the connector on the picture?

i did my wiring but still no spark ore running fuel pump... i spand many hours no the research...

can i fit the punto codebox on the cinquecento codebox connector?

and i have next the d4 conector an other conector.... what about that one...

and is i tru that i have some wires by the d4 that are not in used?

and with this wiring my thempratur is overheaded, no spark no fuelpump
by starting the engine is only the olie press light going off

here the d4 wiring

cinq orange to punto orange
cinq pink/yellow not used
cinq black/white not used
cinq orange/blue not used

cinq green/white is for temp gauge on dash
cinq black/purple to punto black/purple or black
cinq orange/green to punto brown/white
cinq green/yellow to punto green/yellow

cinq red to punto blue

punto red to the conector under the battery tray to start the engine

punto black/red to cink bullet conector what is the bullet conector?

is the code light going off??? as it sounds as though the immobilizer is locked.you need the transponder key(red key) the code box and the ecu all from the same car otherwise it will not start:bang::bang:
i dont know what you mean by other connector:confused::confused: there is only the d4 connector(y)
the bullet connector is under the battery tray(y)(y)

and is the bullet conector the singel conector of the dubble one?

i know the key and the box and ecu are from one car. sometimes it goes out and somtimes stays on :S

but this is the wiring that has been done?

punto codebox under the cinkdash on the cink codebox conector and the red key on the ring

cinq orange to punto orange
cinq pink/yellow not used
cinq black/white not used
cinq orange/blue not used
cinq white/red to punto blue/black

cinq red to punto blue

punto red to the dubble conector under the battery tray
and the red/black to the single conector under the battery tray

and the 2 blue white are reverse and going to the gearbox?

what did i wrong

the codelight don't go off, no running fuel pump, no injection light
the themp is 130C'
if already pusht the button under the dashboard but no reaction

please help me out:worship:

codelight on with no fuel pump prime and no injection light is defo immobilizer lock.the ecu,key and code box obviously do not come from the same car.exactly the same problem i had:p:p:p

its alive!

i didn't understand about the bullet connector.....

under the battery tray are 2 wires that go to the generator and 2 go to the starter engine and the red/black wire from the D4 go to the single wire under the battery tray!!
