my cinq didnt seem to like it much. but it was fun whilst it worked properly

Ive fitted the chip in my 1108 run about. Hope i dont have any trouble as i love the way the cinq drives now

yeah i have nothing againced the chip... its great and does exactly what it says. but i did have a few probs with the cinq after a week or so after fitting.. all of which seemed to cure themselves after putting the cinq chip back in and the problems never returned. but i also had other probs with the cinq that i know wernt related so the probs with the mckrich chip might have been caused by the other problems etc. if you get me

Cinq 1.4 - what spec is your engine that you've fitted the chip to ??
What year is your car ?

Hi John,
Engine has only raid airfilter and bosch super4 plugs,just fitted sportex backbox and everything is fine.my cinq is a 98 R but i got a secondhand ecu off a 96 cinq and fitted chip to that.

Where do you get thses from...?

I just bought another Cinq Sport . This was a non-runner as the guy was told there was a problem with the immobiliser . He had new keys made at £200 , and then a garage had the car for 2 weeks & gave it back to him as they couldn't fix it .
I've just fitted a McCrick chip & it started up FIRST time !!
It drives great , more peppy than my cinq .

No the chip only works on the 1108 ECU AFAIK

Hmm, not too sure, cos after '95, both Cinq's used the same model of ECU (MM 16F) with different mappings, so assuming the injector's are the same (cos Id be surprised if they changed), then TECHNICALLY yes, it SHOULD work...

But thats me hypothesising,and seen as I didn't design the mapping, I cant really say much on it...

the ECU may be the same, but the map would be different surely. I don't recall ever hearing of it being tested on an 899.

But then dan did say a 93/94 899.. so spanner in the works on that one!
