Hi everyone

I have determined the head gasket on my 899 had gone. Iv just hit the 70000 mark so its done pretty well.

Im just in the process in ordering a new set and wanted your opinions in which one to buy.

I have had a search online and found a set on eurocarparts and obviously ebay. Im tempted to go for the one on ebay as its cheap and has quick postage, however im not sure about the quality of the gasket?

Just wanting something that will last and keep my cinq running for another 70000!

Thanks

Chris

I would try and get a branded set if you can afford it, but if you are totally skint, then get the ebay one!

The obvious place to get official parts would be the fiat dealer, i got my HG kit there, it is a bit more expensive then buying online though. One thing in your advantage is you wont need to do the cambelt or anything on a 900, so basically just the head/rocker/thermostat gasket and some coolant. I would recommend replacing oil+oilfilter as well by the way.

Yes i do plan to replace anything needed whilst the head is off including a full service

shop4parts stock oem head gasket sets - if you use them don't forget there is a 10% Forum discount. ;)

Thats great blu thanks! I assume they have valve stem seals in the oem kit as i plan to replace them, also do i need new head bolts? i beleive they are stretch type but not 100%

Thanks for your help! :D

Chris

I know its a bit late, but you don't need new head bolts.
Autodata has them as "reusable up to four times" for the Cinq 899 and strangely "not replace" for the Sei 899.
