Thought i'd post one up too...
When i first start the car, the battery light is on. Like this the car idles fine, at around 20inHg on the vacuum gauge. Once its been reved past around 2k, the battery light goes and the idle turns to ****. The engine shudders and it the vacuum gauage shows around 15inHg (it used to 'idle' there when my HG had blown!)
You'd think it'd be the other way round, dodgy with the light on and fine with it off - but no.
Its not the alternator, i swapped mine for Sie's spare and it didnt help. Yes its possible that both alternators have the same fault, but not likely - it was working when it came off Sie's car!
Anyone any clues? The battery is conencted fine, and there are no earthing issues - trust me!
