General slight judder in low gears

basically i noticed today that when i change into second gear from first the car sort of hits a flat spot and judders and then its ok. At first i thought i nearly stalled but then it kept on doing it over and over. its only when taking off from being sat still and then when changing to second.
i will mention it has been bucketing it down today too and it was only a short journey.
The oil level is fine. i dont know what it could possibly be. I have half a tank of fresh petrol too.

in my opinion, it sounds like lack of air/fuel or too much of it so quick check: fuel, flame and air. when did you last change/clean the fuel filter, the air filter and the spark plugs? Does it act the same when having a warm engine or only cold?
