Is there a way of getting the sidelights to come on without the main bulb (like when on parking lights) on my cinq sx?

I bought LED sidelights, but they arent that clear when you have the main bulb on dim aswell.

Also, is it possible to have a switch so I can turn on and off the main bulbs?

I hope that made sense???

yeah, pull the fuse out of the dim dip relay. Look at the fuse box, its a 7.5A fuse that isnt near the rest of them. its near a relay (dimdip relay)

To make it switchable, add a switch in there somewhere!

someones gotta show me one of these cinqs that side lights dont come on on their own at brooklands, both cinqs ive had you could have just sides

if i were coming, i'd show you! Maybe ur cinqs just had knackerd dimdip relays, or blown fuses?

Adam, what colour are your sidelight LED's?

The dim-dip system has been a requirement on UK spec cars since 1988, it is possible that your cars were ex-Irish imports because we do not have the dim-dip system here or else you just missed the subtle change in brightness when the dim-dips come on.

You can also just disconnect the dim dip resistor.

Mine both has 2 stage switch on the dash press halfway just sides come on, press all the way head lights come on, dip and full controlled by arm on steering colum(sp)

grey area. Seis don't have dim/dip

EDIT:

Dave first press is meant to be sides and the main bulbs on dimly, second press is the main bulb on fully. Then the stalk does main / full beam

They are Blue...

It seems that on the first click of the light switch, they come on with the main bulb. I want the main headlights to still work when on the second click, just not the first. Would removing the fuse stop this?
