car due for MOT today-but yesterday found a leak from beneath the car (convenient!) found out the sump had a big hole in and the oil pump is also broken, anyone had similar problems-or happen to know how much this is to fix!?

I had my sump removed and replaced along with an oil pump change for £125, but that was at a reduced rate, based on no warranty and cash up front .

it's not good news.....
finally got back from the garage after paying 250 for the new sump/pump etc etc also finding out that the cinq had failed on numerous things-
brakes had no reading, both hand & foot
tyre had bulge
wheel had dent out of it on the inside of the wheel
anyone think this is worth fixing!? or shall i leave the cinq for the scrappys?

fix it, brakes arent that expensive and new tyres arent that bad. least u know they'll be good for a long time after

i have to change the wheels (so if anyone has any for sale thatd be grande) plus the car has a odd clonking noise which the bloke said was quite worrying!
plus as he couldnt check the exact details of the problem with the brakes we dont know if it could be the whole caboot brushes/discs/bla bla bla

you still reckon its worth it? if i can sort that for 250 i may consider it...

handbrake cable, £15
new brake shoes, £30

new discs.. not sure but i paid £99 for some new uprated discs and pads, so OEM ones cant cost a lot.

new wheel.. get a photo of it - it might not need replacing, could just have failed it because of the damage to the tyre. New tyre, i spend around £50 a corner, but they can be had for less than that.

Odd clonking noise, where does it come from? If its the back, it could be rear suspension bushes, they're not too pricey and not too urgent to replace either.

the actual wheel has a chunk out of it aswell as the tyre having one - and the clonking noise is from the front-to me it sounded like the fan hitting something but he assured us it wasnt that as i had that fixed sometime last year. kind of a stab in the dark guessing what that could be. me pop is gona have a peek at it at some point (he's fairly handy) so hopefully you can give me some prices when we find out whats wrong exactly
