why siphon the petrol? i found the easiest way to drain the tank is to undo the jubilee clip that holds the filler tube to the tank (or if its rusted and wont come off/rounded off head as i had, just cut it off with a hack saw) use an old kitchen bowl to catch the fuel and replace the jubilee clip :)

Well it passed this time, Emission results below :)

Fast Idle Test:
Engine Speed: 2500 – 3000 rpm
CO: max 0.300% - result: 0.033% - PASS
HC: max 200ppm - result: 17ppm - PASS
Lambda: 0.97–1.03 - result: 1.011 - PASS

Natural Idle Test:
Engine Speed: 450 - 1500 rpm
CO: max 0.500% - result 0.000% - PASS

So we will have a new member in the cento section later on. He is picking it up this evening.

Would you mind unveiling what you did to it to make it pass (apart from a good thrashing beforehand)? I am guessing lambda was replaced? Something else?

Basically your bang on.. I swapped the lambda from my seiT which i know works (will replace with a wideband). I checked all the management sensors worked correctly with a multimeter and stuck a new air filter on it. And damn good thrashing 20 or so miles on way to test station.

I also got the nice man to do emissions as soon as i arrived while the CAT was nice and hot.
