With the base model the map chip is 10 pin not 12 so u need to updrade the ecu in a sence befire u can chip it,as these ecus are self learning it can't be re-mapped like a new car is

How would i upgrade the ECU?

:bang::bang: 1.1 engine or 1.2 8v mk1 punto engine with a chip :bang::bang::bang:

the 899 is a very limited engine although Abarth squeezed 65bhp out of it :worship::worship::worship::worship:

Position: front, transverse
No. of cylinders: 4, in line
Capacity: 900 cc
Bore x stroke: 68 x 65 mm
Compression ratio: 10.45:1
Performance: 65 bhp at 7000 rpm
Fuel system: Electronic, SPI (control unit supplied by Abarth)

dont ask me where to get one you would have to ring Abarth and ask them very nicely with a blank cheque the search feature must be broken again

and for the price and hassle (mainly price) of getting the ecu + upgrades (as they obviously didnt just change the ecu) you may aswell get the 1242 8v and convert it

mines cost me about £250 so far and ive got clutch to get and flywheel lighten and head skimmed also im ordering the sprint mani so another £250 give or take and it'll be done or just buy a sporting :D

I bought my little 899cc sx a few months back. I've always liked the look of them and finally got myself one! I've not done much only painted the standard steel wheels , removed some of the old vinyls and de badged it... Although I've hit a snag.eversince I've had it the transmission made an awful noise and knew I would have to replace the gearbox. But then decided to gamble it and see if I could get it too my workshop! .... No the gearbox went bang !! So now I'm looking for a new gearbox and I'm wondering if a sporting box will fit my sx ... Help ? ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1394499058.496845.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1394499068.312753.jpg
