can any body tell me the specified MPG on a cinq sporting.

worked mine out and only getting about 25mpg, which seems very low for such a small car.

i dont think the breaks are binding or any like that as no squeeking noise and i can brake in a straight line

any ideas?

ps, getting a full service on monday so that might show up any problems with the fuel filter or injectors

From memory in the handbook I think it's 35 mpg urban cycle n 45 motorway but I get more than that most of the time as has been proved by Clubcento's economy runs we do every year - most manage between 50 - 60 mpg and a few even more! Sounds like there's something amis - leaky fuel tank?

Last time i checked mine it was 38mpg which is good, but that was doing long journeys. If u do short journeys your mpg wouldn't be as good, i think ?
At a guess if u drive sencibly u could get 40-45mpg, hope thats of some help. lol :)

It'd depend on your usage of the car as numerous short journeys would give bad mpg figures. If you were doing 60/70 mph all the time, then it would improve. If there are no obvious leaks then it may be time for a tune up. What sort of mileage has the car done, and what's your handbrake like?

SX? 899cc? Hmm....55mpg (ish) generally?

thank you what does this mean i can go really really far in it on one gallon

Yeah really far - about 400 miles worth on a full tank?

On average using normal 95 ron or shell optimax ill average 240

Using BP Ultimate ill get roughly 270

Mixture of motorway driving and london congestion

im lucky if i get 150 miles out ofd a full tank,

i do only do short journeys of about 6 miles at a time, but surely it cant half the MPG.

dont think its a fuel leak, usually take a peek under the car once a week and check everything

doubt the handbrake is the culprit as i have to near enough break my arm to make it actually hold my car still. but as i sed early getting it a thorough service on monday so should solve any problems.

Sounds like the handbrake linkages have siezed (see the stickey in the technical section)

i think all cinqs have hand brake problems in fact when it gets to my next mot i am just going to tell them to replace the unit they fitted just last year and to do it every year i have the car then its kind of like guaranteed

Its a bad design., Doesnt warrant complete replacement within a year. ...that is unless you do what i did and blow a cylinder, then leave it for 6 months....

Its usually the linkages seizing, but when I did mine in November, what looked to be the original linkages were fine (if not a bit stiff). Just needs freeing up with a hammer or linkage replacement

got the car serviced today and any problems with the brakes didnt show up. got a new filter tho so i'll see how that goes.

i recently fitted a handbrake cable that i bought from an italian autojumble, it says its a 'titanium twist' cable, i wasnt sure if it would work, but i have to say its WONDERFUL, the handbrake doesnt creak or groan now, and it feels like it would hold on the vertical :)
