Hi all...

As a few of you may remember i made a c20xe engined black seicento a few years back..

It was build from scratch, was on the road for a few weeks and even got on the f/f stand at TRAX in 2010!! Weeks later the car was sold, and sadly crashed by its new owner a few miles from where i lived, never to return back on the road...

I always looked at the car and thought, id like to do it again, but better... The welds could have looked better, the gear change could be better, and so on...

I was happy it worked, and it was the first of its kind at the time until one popped up in Ireland using dodgy daewoo matiz driveshafts lol... and even a c20xe cinq in poland!! The car itself worked, but lacked the workmanship it deserved... but still with the point being proved.. that the engine could work!

I spent way too much on the car, iir around £3000... about £1000 too much :p

After recently finishing another of my projects (mk2 fiesta 2.1 zetec turbo)... i wanted to mess around with a good engine again... the c20xe!! They are getting very rare now, and although only 157bhp standard (on the early one)... their reliable and fun to drive, with a lot of tuning options.

After spending a few nights around mr Todger's looking at his & his mates sei.. i began to think that maybe a mk2 sei would be on the cards! This time around, ive got a load more experience, know a professional welder who will be doing all the welding (YAY) at the cost of biscuits & coffee... and a tasty few little mods up my sleeve...

Im collecting what is left of my seicento xe this saturday... and bringing it back to where i live... The shafts will be sent over to Todgers for him to get them checked & rebalanced via a friend...

Il then crack on with sourcing a donor car... pref a poverty spec seicento this time around, as i want it low and as standard as poss... No stripped out tinted rubbish for me... a nice show sleeper..

Also the engine will undergo a full rebuild, every seal, bearing replaced and everything checked over fully... It might have to have a rebore, depending on the cylinders.. as most of these engines have been to the moon and back, but its nothing i haven't had done before... and to be honest i wouldn't moan at a 2.1!!

The standard inlet will be thrown away, along with all the sensors... and replaced with my recently bought Kawasaki ZZR1100 Carbs!! With a custom stainless inlet manifold, built by my partners father, who will be building it at where he works (Honda)...

The engine management will be taken care of by MBE management, which i have also recently picked up rather cheap....

With the inlet being along the lines of bike stuff, il have more power & also more room for the engine!! I also plan to relocate the alternator to the front of the engine rather than the rear, giving me room to keep a lot of the metal work in the engine bay!

I will however be attacking a few things with the 'masher' or grinder as most of you will call it... but nowhere near the amount i did on the mk1!! And whatever comes out will be replaced with 3mm steel & angle iron to keep (if not increase) the strength of the engine bay!

Sadly i wont be going hydraulic clutch as i would have wanted to, as the f23 gearbox is a lot bigger and just wont fit... however i think this time instead of the f20 i used before (the standard 2.0 box) il be fitting the lower ratio f16 on, keeping the mech linkage...

The only other things i am looking to get at the moment, other than the donor car & rebuild bits are an omex revlimiter with launch control & my lambda wideband, which will be helpful when setting up the carbs...

Here are a few pics, as it would be rude not to start the post without any!!

My recent zetec turbo (now sold)... The management & carbs... and what im collecting at the weekend haha :p

How about an LSD? I think you may need one.

Good to hear that it'll get a new life.

An lsd is something that il be doing at a later date, as i want this car on the road prior to 2012 lol...

When i find an LSD i will also be looking at changing the gears a little...

Im planning to find a wide ratio f16 box, (F16WR) and later down the line a donor f20... Il be looking to disassemble both boxes and swap the tall final drive from the F20 into the F16 box. This would give me very tall gears on a very tall final drive, which would be ideal for motorway driving, and avoiding the car screaming at me due to the wheel size (14")...

this is something i will be watching closely as the first one i thought was mad so looking forward to seeing this one develop:devil:(y)

Thanks :D

Hopefully il make this guide simple, and do the build easy enough to ensure a few more get built in the future!! The last sei i done was over engineered, and pointless things were done to it, which ate up money, time & effort :p

you say there is a couple of other redtop centos.

I was told by a bloke in a scrap yard in dudley area (this was about two years ago) that there was another one (i thought it might of been yours at first but he said this guy built it a couple of years before)

I guess pretty much everything has been done to these cars in the past... not everything makes it online!

Brilliant haha...

To be honest, its probs just hearsay.. like i own 10 Maserati's, and my dads bigger than your dad... lol... To be honest, im the type of person that doesnt believe it till i see it... that one in my books was non existant haha ;)

Be good to see if there were any more though to be honest...

d

ahh lol maybe mount it on the front of bumper like the yellow turbo has that intercooler on the front instead of making yourself go death this time :D

Lol... yea... if you followed the last build you would have seen i managed to get a standard rad in the front in the end (as well as the other two)... however with the front rad, i didnt need to have the rears, and only had them in due to them already being there lol...

This one will be running a standard NEW rad, with uprated race fan, and cool running vaux thermostat, fan switch & overide...

Plus thist time round the system will be a lot easier to bleed up :p

This is great news! I saw the fez for sale, it looked awesome!! Hopefully it made it more than a few miles away this time
I will be here watching ;)

Haha yea it went well, although to a complete little tw*t lad who had only been driving a year. Its been ragged to an inch of its life and back on ebay for more than he paid for it.. Had a call from him recently as he turned the boost all the way up, without the correct fueling to suit and wanted me to explain what he could do as it then had running issues.. idiot!!

Oh dear, another ebay slag in the making.. if i had space i would be tempted to save it but no space and no cash because of that bloody christmas thing people insist on

Haha i hate xmas... want to hide under a rock till its over!!! As for the fiesta, it was great, but id be scared the engine would be worn a fair bit with the lack of fuel and high boost... Would leave it as a slag, and not touch!! Shame tho :(
