I have figured out my battery Drained problem.
We HAD come to the conclusion that it was a fact of life, that my stereo was draining just enough to flatten my batt in about 12 hours, and that that was that. We were thinking up all kinds of ingenious ways to prevent the battery giving too much juice to the stereo so it would start again. Resistors, otherhtings that i didnt understand but Pa did. Ooh... scary things they are.
But lo and behold, with a day off work, what does Pa do? Reads thru the stereo instructuions thats what. Turns out if you hold the "Off" button down for a while when you switch it off it turns off the IR reciever as well. So instead of the stereo wasting all kinds of energy waiting for an IR signal, it doesnt and the power drain drops from 38 to 2 milliamps.
Am I a happy bunny! No more overnigth charges for Geoff. No Sirreebob
