My fuel tank seems to have a leak, so i'll be needing a new one. My local Fiat dealer has quoted £140, does anyone know if i can get one cheaper somewhere else?
I guess going to a scrap yard would be an option, but the same thing could happen again.
What to do

Fork out the cash. Worth it for the piece of mind IMO

trouble with the scrap yard is like you say could have the same problem.
I went to charlies yard down kettering and there wasnt one cinq there.
If you go down the one in far cotton (just outside northampton town) they have a couple in there.
I would probably have to agree with surfin fella.

Bleeedi hell, Now he is nice.. 40 quid - bargin hunter!.. But what about fitting it? i wouldn't wanna do it - i'd never trust my DIY (kinda dangerous.. )

before you do any thing go to a fiat dealer and ask them do do a S.I.G.I. as you will prob get it done for free as it is a recall p.s. i am a fiat dealer

theres a tank in my cinq, its prouably a replaced one because the cinq is a mk1, i'll get daryl to take it out an see if its ok.

I hope you don't manage Dorchester - they where very poor at customer service... Spent hours lookin for correct decals, panals any part reali!..

Great news, phoned up Fiat dealer again and asked about the fuel tank recall, and mine seems to be covered for that, so i'm getting a new one free woooooooooooooooo! Booked in next tuesday!
So i recommend to anyone with this problem to ask about the recall, could save u a load of money!

it did... sometime last year!

I will check with them tomorrow, but i'm sure they said yes its a recall. Had to wait 30 mins while they checked the chassis number!

Hi, Could you tell me which dealers did the re-call? I'm based in Kettering and our nearest dealer in Corby told me the re-call was 'closed'. I have the same leak and would be interested in a new tank for £0. Thanks.
