Technical 899cc to punto 60 engine swap??

Currently reading:
Technical 899cc to punto 60 engine swap??

The usual swap is the 1.1 FIRE for the 1242 engine, thats because its a bolt-for-bolt swap. IIRC it is possible for the 899->1242 swap, as in it can fit in there, but it is not a bot for bolt swap.

EDIT- also, i am guessing you will need more parts for the engine management, 1242 ECU etc.
 
I think someone on here has done the 899 to 1242 swap. It was mentioned in a thread a few weeks ago. Might be worth doing a search. (y)
 
I have done a similar conversion, 899 to 1108. You need:-

Complete Cinq sporting wiring loom,
Sporting gear box
Sporting driveshafts
Sporting gear linkage
Sporting ECU and relays
Sporting exhaust manifold
Sporting alternator
Sporting radiator hoses and heater hoses

You will need to modify the chassis leg on the nearside front, unless yours is a later shell with the additional bolt hole.

Thats all I can think of right now, but I am sure there is more.

So basically everything engine/transmission related then........easier to buy aand modify a sporting, or mod the 899 (I might do that, just to see what it can do........the throttle bodies are the same on the 899 and 1108 aren't they? Could buy a 40mm of Tricker.........)
 
Yep, only see this swap being remotely viable if you had a rear ended pre-converted 1242 and HG fcuked 899 in mint condition which you both happened to accquire for free!

Not 100% but I believe they're not the same tb set-up. Especially since the 899cc engine is many many years older than the FIRE unit

If you are going so far try Punto 75 engine. It is much powerfull but the work will be almost the same.
