Bit of a problem with my cinq, wondered if anyone could help.

The other day i noticed a loss of power with my cinq, looked under the bonnet and found oil leaking out of a pipe which had melted at one end.

Went to the fiat garage to see how much a spare part was and they quoted me 55 quid plus fitting and he said the engine would need re tuning. The part is called a sleeve (some kind of breather pipe?). Connects the oil to the air filter.....I think.

managed to get one from DA motors for a tenner, got home and fitted it. But the power is still not all there.

Does this sound like a simple engine re tune or could this be a bigger problem? dont fancy chucking loads of money at the car, so there could be one for sale if the fault is major.

Anyone looking for any cinq parts should check out DA motors in Wickford, Essex. Got at least 8 there in varying states. Loads of spares.

Sounds as if your oil breather system is blocked up.....you may need to take all the breather pipes off and flush them through with carburetter cleaner...

hi mate, whats the power loss like? Like when you hit 3k theres nothing left? sounds similar to problem on the mrs's car. is driving her mad. is soooo slow
