Hi

I need to remove the OS engine mount so i can get the alternator out. Whats the best way to support the engine while i do this. I dont have an engine crane!

Piece of wood/board and a trolley jack? Quick replies would be appericiated as the car is up on stands in bits at the moment!

When i removed my rear engine mount i supported the engine with two trolley jacks. One is enough if you can find a good place to support it. I just made sure that the engine moved up a bit when i put the jack under and it looked as if it was steady.

Sorry i cant be of more help as i haven't removed that mount before.

Oh yeah, and i did use a bit of wood on top of the trolley jacks when i did it

Could be done with a beam across the bulkhead and front crossmember, like so:
