Hi there

Please may I ask some basic technical advise?

My daughter's 1996 Cinquento SX has now developed a leak in the offside rear
brake assembly:cry:

We had the brake drum off and the weeping has saturated the brake pad.

Would I be able to get away with simply get a mechanic to replace the brake cylinder..

would probably want to replace both back ones? Or would I need to have all four[front and back] done?

And I would of course replace the brake pads on both sides of the rear of the car.

And bleed out the rest of the 1996 brake fluid that is a nasty murky colour!!!!

Any advise welcomed !:worship:

We live near Dartford and anyone competent do the job for me?

Would pay of course! And parts cld come from eaby or Ancaster in Welling.

regards

Geoff

PS Our venerable CLX Panda is providing service while her beloved Cinq is off the road.

i would chamge both cylinders as one has gone other probably wont be far behind and u are changing the shoes anyway and bleeding the whole system thru so why not do the other cylinder but be prepared to get new brake pipes from cylinders to flexis....mine looked fine but were knackered when undone or rather tried to:cry:
hows the handbrake cable??? all free if not replace at the same time and free off all linkages save u doing it again later on(y)
