I have recently bought a Fiat Siecento, I love it and it's a perfect first car but I'm having difficulty with the wing mirrors. I am starting to get used to them whilst driving but I am finding it hard to reverse as I have always been taught to follow the kerb in my wing mirror. The mirrors are too small to be able to see the kerb whilst still being able to see up the road and as they are not electronic it's hard to adjust them.

Has anybody else had this problem and have any advice for me? Thanks :)

Only suggestion I can make is to adjust the passenger mirror manually whenever you need to reverse, it may be easier said than done as I'm quite tall I can reach it easily. After a little while you'll get to grips with the cars diminuitive dimensions and be able to do it by feel :)

I'm only 5'3 so it is easier said than done :p Hopefully something I'll get used to in time :)

I've got my passenger door mirror aimed at the wall I reverse against on my drive (it's quite tight between that wall and my wife's car) and find I never use it whilst on the road, the rear view is quite sufficient.

Alternatively take the Italian view 'what's behind me is not important!'.
