ok after paying 20 quid for a remote central locking kit i have no idea how to fit it, i know the motor is a negative feed, but where do i find the wires for the motor are they in the car, or in the door? car is a 2003 seicento? help!!!!!

I got a kit off Ebay, delivered from Hong Kong for about £10 and it works a treat. Very easy to install on my daughters 2003 Sei.

First you need a permanent (fused) live. I used piggyback 15A fuse to take a feed from the fusebox, position E1 (the central locking).

Earth was via a eyelet around a bolt under the dashboard.

The controller unit itself was mounted behind the storage shelf on the passenger side.

For connection to the car electrical system I removed the trim-piece at the base of the front passenger-side A-post (two screws) and also pulled away the inner sill trim to expose all of the wires. You will find the required wires at the base of the A-post and they go to a connector which couples to the door harness.

The system locks/unlocks on a negative pulse from the remote locking controller.

Connect the UNLOCK wire to the wire coloured light blue/red (a solder connection is better than Scotch-Lok).

For LOCK connect to the white/yellow wire.

For flashing the indicators on lock/unlock I tapped into the indicator feed wires (just at the base of the A-post behind the passenger-side sill trim. Light blue and light blue/black are the wires to tap into.

I also fitted a remote hatch release using a high-power solenoid mounted inside the rear cross-member and a using a short pushrod to operate the latch.

Its all been installed for quite a few weeks now and has been 100% reliable so far.

Deffinately think this should be used as a Guide, absolutely brillaint, compared it to the way i wired my W reg remote central locking kit up and realised i could of done it a lot easier!!

sorry buddy

the kit i brought was a central locking upgrade kit from hawk alarms, as ive heard alot of good things about them through various groups, forums ect i thought id give it a punt, i placed my order on the friday at around 11am and recieved the unit the next day at 9am via mr posty

opened the box to find a alarm module (which was very small and easy to hide behind the passengers side of the dash ) 2 remotes a wiring harness and a very comprehensive instruction book that was written in laymans terms yet very detailed info and easy to understand

heres the link to the one i bought

http://www.hawkcaralarm.com/UniversalUpgradeRemoteKeylessForCentralLock.aspx

it also has an option to add a total window closure kit for an extra 20 quid or so.

im by no means wise to car electrics i prefer the mechanical side but i managed this in around 2 hours and to be honest most of that was spent hiding wires out of the way

i would definitely recommend this kit to anyone that fancys that extra little novelty's or jus a feature from some of the newer cars

Great guide, really helped me out.

I used the radio for the earths/power supply, and just incase this happens with anyone else; both of the wires for my indicator lights were blue, but you can just put the hazard lights on and check the voltage if you're unsure.
