I'll try make this short.

Have mainly been a biker for the last 12 years and bought a Sporting as a cheap 2nd car runaround for crappy weather. Have gotten into 'em big time though. Mine has a few anoying gliches like dropped doors, no washer jets on front (wired from rear), poor fuel consumpt, crap handbrake etc etc etc.

Was wondering if there are any of you members live in or around the Leeds/Bradford area maybe fancy a meet, few beers and swap a few nuggets of knowledge with me (everything I know is on a cig packet) - as most people I've spoken to recently know Jack about 'em.

I've used forums like this in the past for the bike and know that you guys are the best to pick the brains of seen as how most of you have 'been there, seen it, done it and bought the T-Shirt', and dealers are too expensive.

I would like to think that I've bought a decent car for £950 on a 97 'R' plate with 62K on despite the few annoyances...

sorry it wasn't so short.

Drop me a line if you fancy a meet

Dan

Welcome to the forum

Your definately right about the people on here. Quite a few owners here will save you a few quid.

The pipes to the washer jets perish, but not expensive to repair if at fault.

There was a recall on cinq's as the fuel tank would leak because of a dodgy seal. Recall has ended, but i have heard that some garages will still carry out the job.

The Handbrake is just for show :) But people know how to make it better on here...

What I could really do with is someone near me whos in 'the know', taking a look/listen to the Cinq and giving me a quick low-down on what they think of it - whether it sounds rough, sounds normal for a 97 Cinq etc.

Any offers?

(Gimme a break - I'm a Yorkshireman - you don't get bugger all unless you ask, do you?)

What do I get for my £20?
You will receive free technical advice from the Clubcento Technical Officer, free lunch at certain events, a quarterly magazine, a car sticker, discounts at many specialist stores and a busy social life with usually at least one event per month.
