OK I have joined the club, got in the car turned the key and nothing, dead flat battery. Can anyone tell me what the size battery (amp hour) should in a bog standard 1108 year 2000 and the battery drain with everything off and no accessories apart from a radio (mechanical clock). I have a reading of 15 mA and it seems a little high to me, but not enough to drain my battery after 2 days. I do not know the history, the label on the battery that indicates the year is unmarked but starts at 2010 so I assume it can’t be older than that. I trickle charged the it for about 5 hours and started. The alternator was charging about 20A and after a 10Km drive it was down to about 10A and stayed with all the lights on. Any ideas?

15ma does seem a little bit high, try removing fuses one at a time and replacing to see if it reduces, the battery should have tolerated this in summer...

Ok got around to checking the electrics, Its been raining for the last week.
And yes with the radio disconnected there is only 3.9 mA and with the red wire that is supposed to go to the ignition key disconnected 4.7 mA. I am now looking at rewiring it, the problem is finding somewhere to splice into to. Thanks for your suggestions. (y)
