hi, when i was checking to see if all of lights were working on my 1998 sei sporting i noticed that my passenger side, side light didn't. so i took it out and noticed that the bulb wasnt making any contacts, this is because the white plastic bit that holds it in has melted and the edges have snapped off. i need a way of holding the bulb in, tape wouldnt work because then the holder wouldnt fit into the headlamp from behind, also the tape would melt. can i just buy the white plastic bit from fiat or is there an easier way of making it stay in.

Thanks

Matt

If I've found the right bit, they're about £4 each from Fiat. Bad contacts probably made it overheat in the first place, a new holder should sort it out. May as well put a new bulb in too while it's off, they're only cheap.

cheers guys. yeah, its the bit that you just push in and twist slightly. ive got some new bulbs because i thought it had blown to begin with. £1.49 for 2. which is relitivly cheap.

do i just ask my local fiat dealer for a side light holder?

Matt

hi, i rang fiat yesterday to order a side light holder, and they told me that they only come with the headlight unit and you cant get one seperatly.

how do i go about getting one, whatb is the part you found for £4.

Help

Matt

Think you might have got the resident monkey, one of our local Fiat garages is like this. They need to look at the right bit on the parts CD. Give them part number 7656246 and see what they come up with - it's the same number for cinqs and seis.

cheers, just in case i did get the monkey, u may have read my thread about washer motors. do they sell them individulaay, if you no by any chance

thanks

matt
