Today i went for some info on getting the 1.2 16v engine or the 1.4 16v engine, bummer part is they are so rare and hard to get.

The guy i contacted did have a 1.6 16v engine for 300 euro wich is a good price here in holland, only thing is idk if it fits and what gearbox ect to use. Your toughts on this swap and if it is worth it.

*cough* Acutally it's only 3bhp (103bhp total) better off but as famously said "there is no replacement for displacement".

Beleive it or not the 1.6 16v engine is only 10kg heavier filled. It's made of the same materials and is just as modern as the superfire engine (assuming you mean the bravo/brava, and stilo engine. The old punto 1.6 is a heavy b3tard and isn't very good).

I was looking into this engine about 3 months back and yes it will fit, but you would need to make up your own mounts. The engine is perfect for an ITB conversion with the inlet being at the front :D.

Thanks

i stand corrected on the weight then.... but still for the effort in this case i think the 1.4 16v IS the better option.

i do beleive though the 1.8 bravo engine weighs almost identical amounts to the 1.6???

The problem is how rare the 1.2 16v and 1.4 16v are here, i saw a punto 85 i was all happy and jumped to it's direction... but when i opened the bonnet no engine

They told me the 1.4 16v are the nwer engine and ill end up paying alot for it.. maybe they are cheap therem but here oeefff :bang:
