Has anyone on here got a nice Cinquecento ICE install? What front speakers has anyone got? Where are they fitted? Also, the front speaker grills, has anyone got a pair of the grills that they would like to sell? I had to cut holes in mine to clear the tweeters, now I wanna get some components and re-fit the grills.

Rear speakers? Where have they been fitted? How big can you go in the rear quarter panels?

Boot? What sort of install has anyone got? Where have they mounted the sub and amp?

I already have a medium install (4" coaxials in the dash and rear quarter panels and sub and amp in the boot) I was thinking of upgrading and wasnt sure what to get.

Cheers

i used to have a large install install, but now its all taken
out (too bloody heavy)

Anyway, i've got a set of infinity 6x9's in the quarter panel, which fit nicely and it saves cutting your parcel shelf to bits.
i also had a JL audio 12" sub which was top class, kicked out some nice sounding base. Up front i changed the standard speakers for some pro-plus ones rated at 100w, they do the job for what they are worth.
Best thing i ever bought was a kenwood graphic equiliser, they are excellent and you've got loadsa control over your bass and treble.

Cheers

Any ideas which speakers are best if you're using just the fronts? I plan on keeping my car as original as poss so i can sell it on in a few months for what i paid for it, but the Boschmann 10cm 100w speakers (which were cheap!) i replaced the original fronts with are totally bass-less and make horrid frumping noised instead. i cant live with this and need to replace them!! Have a Clarion 4x35w cd player if that helps...

I dont blame you for wanting to keep the car as original as possible, thats what I am planning to do. The only holes that I have cut are in the rear quarter panels to fit some 10cm co-axials in. It was either cut the panels or use the parcel shelf (which isnt any good to use for speakers).

Basically, you'll never get 'good' bass from 10cm speakers mounted in the dashboard. The best thing you can do is get a sub and amp. You can always take them staright back out and no-one will be able to tell it was ever there. Try getting an active sub box, even less messing about with wires etc...

You wont get ANY...well mine were trying to put out bass, but distorting the speaker because it was working too hard.

Stick in a Sub, Amp, and put in a High Pass Filter on the front pair, and fade the sound towards the rear of the car, sounds much better!!

The only problem with the HPF to the fronts is that that the sound then becomes too 'tinny' from the front, mid-bass then only comes from the sub and you have to set the LPF quite high on the amp running the sub (i.e below 250hz or higher!) which does nothing for the performance of the sub. This then produces quite a bad image for the mid to mid-bass frquency's. In other words, Cinq suck when it comes to car audio.

Idealy you want something like a 12" sub in the boot, 8" subs in the front running mid-bass and 6" components for mid range and treble all running from amps. But where the hell can you stick an 8" sub in the front of Cinq?!?
