I wanted to change them last month but with the boiler breakdown debacle couldn't afford it, I get quite a bit of knocking on bumpy sections of road, is it a fail or just an advisory?
If it's likely to fail, I'll get the Strongflex ones this week and get the garage to change them before doing the MOT...

Cheers

Difficult one. My rear bushes were knocking quite badly and I ordered new ones and had them in the boot when I took the car to the garage. They took the car to the MOT place they use and everything I knew needed doing was on the fail sheet but not the bushes. The garage changed them anyway as they agreed that the knocking was a bit much when they drove to the MOT place................

Mine were bad for 3 years and it never even got an advisory, I wouldn't worry about it myself, utter worse case, if it did fale and you can't get the bushes changed, my seicentos not going anywhere if ya need to lend a good pair of trailing arms.

Just after the MOT on my daughter's Seicento three years ago I gave it a routine service and found the rubber bushes on both sides were past their best. The car had been given several advisory notes at the MOT, brake imbalance, rusty brake pipes (just where the flexible pipes are crimped in), exhaust emissions, an oil leak on the engine and the colour of the indicator bulb, no mention of the rubber bushes.
The rust on the brake pipes was very superficial, the 'oil leak' was a dribble left from when I had topped the oil up, the 'wrong' colour of the bulb was barely detectable. I did not think that the brakes were out of balance but took the car to a local garage for their opinion, they tested it and the results were fine, they also checked the exhaust emissions, which were fine.
Since then she has moved, she now takes her car to a different main agent for MOT and has had no advisory notices until this year when they mentioned that one of the bushes was slightly slack. I will probably deal with the buses before the next MOT when it will have been four years since Ifirst noticed it, and only one year since it was flagged up at MOT!

if the MOT is done on a 4 post ramp though the worn bushes will show.
i would change them for peace of mind personally

All MOTs are done on a four post, or at least should be. The four poster is equipped with a jacking beam to raise the car each end in turn. IIRC the susupension bushes are checked when the suspension is at full drop.

Cheers

Mine passed with badly worn bushes, but iirc only the outer ones had gone and the inner ones were fine.

When they were changed it turned out the rear shocks were completely shot too, and it passed with those.
