All the premiums and renewals have risen dramatically recently, well in the past year - this isn't news

Tried the forum insurers ?

Re: Seicento insurance

I was looking at getting a mondeo to replace my Felicia as i need a bigger car......but that was just under 360....so it cost allmost as much to insure a 1.8 as it does a 1.1

Re: Seicento insurance

you know you cant use your no claims on two vehicles... dont ask me why but you cant. insurance companys are money grabbing cnuts

bit like... your car and motorcycle insurance are totally unrelated (you cant have 5years no claims on a bike then buy a car and use it on that) BUT if you loose no claims on one you loose them on both!!!

What ever suits them it seems

Dont forget as well that insurance companies dont like oldish cars anymore theres no benefits for them

The oldest sei will be 13 yrs old its small and inexpensive theyd rather have something big and expensive on their books

Eh? Write off an older car, they undervalue it and fob you off with a cheque, whereas they would have to repair or even replace a newer car which would end up costing more.

Is Scunthorpe the car crime capital of the world or something, I'm ~350 this year for 10,000 miles in a Cinq Sporting and I'm 27 AND listed as a mature student. Seven years NCB though.

You could try finding the cheapest quote via those sites and then go back to the insurer via a cashback site like Quidco and generate a new quote (the cashback is never guaranteed to pay out though, but it usually does).

Re: Seicento insurance

Mine was my first car and was 1880! Unbelievable really, and that is one of the cheapest cars I found as well.

But they will come back because of the good service and insure with them again and again which works out better in the long run

Look at it from an immediate business point of view- which business would you rather have - someone insuring a 500 quid car for 300+ or someone insuring a big V8 or 4x4 who are going to be paying more?

Yeah they might get the odd accident, but our centos, are owned mostly nowadays by the younger generation who are obviously high risk and its a cheap car, its just an inconvenience to them now, hence why the scrappage scheme was a big help

They have to accept business but if they had the choice i bet they would do away with old small cheap cars after a certain age and just have more modern cars on the books
