Hey peeps hows life on the forum iv not been on recently as my laptop died....

My little seicento however has gone and thrown a strop lol...

First thing i noticed after a hill start was my gear changes were getting harder and harder until i arrived at the chinese to collect my order... as i was parking there was a loudish snap as the clutch cable gave way.

i then pushed it onto a straight bit of road to attempt to get it home ...

but i was unable to select any gears and then the car got stuck in year....
The gearstick feels like its in neutral however the car is half selected a gear and is refusing to give up...

I was then towed home with the car half in gear and the gearbox making a little smell unsure if this was clutch or something else...

This ontop of my ECU issues is beginning to ruin the little thing id love to keep it but with Labour and Parts (Especially if the box is f**ked) its becoming an expensive job for a car worth at most 1500 quid

Any suggestions rather than a nice GP 1.9 Mjet lol

Thanks Andrew

With wet shafts it uses the gearbox oil to lubricate underneath the boot. Pull the boot off slightly and low and behold oil drips (y).

With dry shafts it uses CV gaiter grease all contained in the boot and cup :D.

Thanks

Ahh that would make more sense :D.

It is a much easier approach with the dash out, downside is there are alot of allen key bolts holding it on.

1 in each corner behind the vents
5 underneath
1 in the middle
Then fuse box needs to be removed and tucked behind.

Thanks

Right just been out and removed the rubber cover green greasy stuff was present i took some pics too for u to analyse lol

Is it 'Wet' or 'Dry'

Also do i need to get the dash out out or just pulled away ?

I've given away a box before and I've bought boxes for £30, so it's not massive if the box is foobar. The new oil cost more than the box!!

Clutch cable removal. Undoe the adjusting screw, remove the two bolts on the bulkhead outside the car, remove the end of the cable from the plastic triangle under the passenger side dash.

Right cable is now out all i need to work out is how to get my arm up behind that dash and undo the fiddly clip on the plastic triangle

Next thing to do is reassemble :D

How rewarding is it accomplishing something everyone thinks you wont manage hehe
