hi my mate has a cinq in his garden a few years that he has never even driven or no's much about it which he is going to bring to the scrappy, i havent looked under the bonnet or anything yet but did notice it has an completly diffrent exhaust set up with an exit on either side, its stamped novitec, anybody ever have 1 of these or even heard of them?????

From what i know novitec made for the cento:
Chips
Cams
Airbox
Strutbrace
Exhaust
Wheels
5th gear
Turbo kit
Spoiler lip

There may be other bits aswell that I don't know of.

Get the car off him and give it a good going over

youve wanted a turbo cinq and have never heard of them?

pull them parts off

Ash

im currently building 1, i no who novitec are and what they have done it the past with cento turbo kits, cams etc, but im wondering about this perticular exhaust

just take it.. specially if its gonna be free..

il wip it off hopefully tomorrow evening (weater permitting) and get a pic of it up as soon as i can, jus curious as iv seen the oval centre novitec exhausts but wondering if anybodys heard of the twin exit on either side model?

I think it has been established that people are aware of novitec exhausts, search the forum a little bit to see what has been posted before...

i have searched the forum and cannot find anything about this perticular model, that is why i am asking.
if you think that you have found a post with this model in it a link would be greatly apreciated, main rear silencer box is in the middle with a pipe coming and going to either side with chrome tips,

simular to this but not the same http://www.google.ie/imgres?imgurl=...ge=2&ndsp=24&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:20&tx=121&ty=86

novitec stuff wasn't cheap so chances are at somepoint in its life this car has had some money spent on it, get under the hood and see whats been done to the engine as it could be a novitec tuned car which could mean some very nice and sort after parts but there again it could be stock

im going to have a good look over it tomorow, any idea what kind of things to look for apart from a turbo conversion and the engine numbers, any idea on how to check weater the cam is standard or not.
its a cinq sporting also

If you have the space I would take the whole car, as for being able to check for parts. You would have to strip the rocker cover off to check the cam, It could be a full novi exhaust so you would need to take it manifold back, engine numbers may indicate whether it's a 1.2 or 1.1, but it could be a bored out 1.1 block.

Personally if you can and you have confirmed there is a couple of good bits on it, take the whole car.

Thanks

the whole car would be a bit of a problem to take im afraid, no room
wen i got the cover off how could i tell if its a different cam?
any other good parts that could be hidden?

Novitec at one point made the worlds most powerful sei but it was also the worlds most unreliable

I remain unconvinced over their reliability as they had real issues in general also

On an exhaust it probably doesnt matter but if you find other bits n start putting it all together it might be a problem

Dont get hung up on the name/brand if im honest id rather have a turbo car put together by one of the guys on here rather than one novitec ever did

The Novitec Carbon Airbox is pretty rare these days, again will be very obvious on opeing the bonnet, huge bit of carbon with novitec written on it ;).

Edit: whereabouts does this exhasut say novitec on it?

cheers will have a look, its stamped on each exit pipe, not to sure if its stamped on the box, im going over now to take it off and whatever else is decent, anybody need anything?
