I had this 899cc a few years as a spare car and handy when my others broken or sold my cars. I got it off my mum and so cheap to insure just kept it on.

I was thinkin the car has utiliterin character lol and must be light and looks very basic as is basic s version with plastic bumpers in blue.

I bet with a 1.4 and lowered this would fly and be fun too it feel a laugh throwing it around as is tiny.

Ignore post if i waffling, just wondered has anyone else done a 899cc is a 1.4 conversion just as easy in the 899cc? i expect gearbox isnt up to job being from 899cc i think id rather do it to a basic car as it is understated compared to sporting etc.

the 899cc just makes things hard. as you need practically everything to do it. whilst if you had the sporting it would fit on the same mounts and many other parts will fit..
it is possible though but no one has done it yet that i know of

There is a recent Cinq 899 -> 1.2 16v mpi thread around.

But, as droners says most of the bits you'll need will already be on a Sporting (mounts, gearbox), plus you'll get a rev counter and more supportive seats (bolsters - if they are like Cinq sporting ones anyway).

But converting an 899 would be a nice project if you can afford the time :)
Leave the bumpers unpainted, just use some of that plastic care stuff to keep them blacker, fit some wider 14" steels and drop it :yum:
