Will it change?

I just got my spoiler and rear sporting bumper back from the sprayer, he got my exact paint code and stuff and got it mixed up, i have put the spoiler and bumper on my sei but u can notice a slight colour difference close up!!
Is this because its pretty much new paint only 3-4 days old as opposed to my over year old sei paint?? Its actually slightly kinda lighter fresher lookin that sei paint, will it change over course to blend a bit better??
Looks fine from a distance and car looks good with change(will try get pics sorted) but if it doesnt start blending should i get it sprayed again just?

Re: Will it change?

get a cloth with sum g3(fereckler)- which is basically stronger t cut and rub it on a section on your car where it is the correct colour with a thick layer of paint sumwere in car maybe or boot? cover the cloth as much as you can in correct paint mixed with g3 then polish the areas where the paint is different with the cloth keep repeating process if needed with cloth and this should ad some of the old paint into the surface finish on the new areas

Re: Will it change?

its always best to take the car with you when you getting paint matched up, cause although you give them the code there might be several different shades of it - the paint mixer will have colour cards and they put them up against your paint to find a near perfect match

on my first bonnet re-spray it was green, so took petrol flap with me to get paint match and its been near perfect since, apart from the last time when it came back yellower, but as you wash it and the paint doesnt become new anymore its gets less and less noticable

to get a perfect match, you may find it better to get the rest of the car blown over and the bumper and spoiler left as they are

Re: Will it change?

was gonna buy a punto sporting until i realised the bumpers, s/s and spoiler didnt match the rest of the car

Re: Will it change?

I just want to back this up for you. At first, my spoiler + skirts looked so different but they look spot on now. The new front splitter I put on 2 days ago looks a definate addition due to the colour difference at the mo but i'm sure it will settle, as will your bumper. I'm avoiding taking pics of the car until it has changed colour. At least your front bumper doesn't look a totally different yellow if you look at it properly. mine does and always has. hehe.

Re: Will it change?

Mate you can only slightly tell you wont be able to change the colour of your paint by using rubbing compound like suggested above either as your removing paint and not blending anything in anyway and by doing so unless you put on loads of polish after you are reducing the life of the paint.

When mixing paint you can hardly ever get an exact match which is why when bodyshops spray a door they flick blend the new paint into the old around the edges and buff it.
