its been a little idea ive whiring around but as per usual i cant afford it,

was wondering what your thoughts on such a project would be?

the plan,

Cinquecento--->remove old engine (and the rest of the work)

----->in place the 875cc twin air,

if i could i would,would you?

si

Is that one of the new engines?

Its going to be at least 5k just for the block (thats even before you think of the running side of things) if theres any knocking about already, theyre not that old

I wouldnt, not in an old cinq anyway

Not 100% on this, but i think the twin air uses the Fire gearbox, so in theory to fir the cinq. All you need is to get the drive side engine mount made up ?

But how you going to run it is a massive problem.

yeah one of the new ones, mainly come to think of it because of running costs of today that always seem to be rising,

may be worth it in the future i think, but not yet

1.4 16v = same power with less fuss.

your tax wont go down and fuel economy ont he twin air isnt actually that good.

youd be shooting yourself in the foot.

1.4 if you want power. then t-jet.

no reason for a twin air in a cento.

gonna be something il sit on for a while, seems possible but not worth it

susan boyle sang a song to cover this.. " i dreamed a dream" .. LOL. would be pretty epic though.

i dreamt a dream,turned out to be a nightmare,hope this doesnt lol

i can see what your saying and i do agree there, but hey never know this twin air may catch on,just considering the twin air over the standard 1108 fire engine

find someone who backs up fiats claims.

a few mates of mine couldnt get it over 40mpg and topgear quoted it at 38.9 best they could get.....

and one of the people in the 500 section couldnt get this up to MPG specs think it was munkul ?.. it also seems to struggle a little in some gears in the 500. but i wonder if a different ratio box would sort that... for 875cc it dosent half give some power mind. take it you would want twin air turbo ? not the N/A one

the 1.3 M-jet gets much better MPG and is a very torque happy engine (140nm) ad 75hp, engine is mainly made up of aluminium so its pretty light too

tax is £35 per year and im getting (on over a 1000 miles total of mainly short runs) 55mpg ive pushed it upto 100mpg while drafting a lorry for quite a while:slayer:

EDIT: weight is 975KG so can save some weight in a cinq but would need some beefy engine mount as the gearbox uses the same fire gearbox

the only twin air i know of so far has a supercharger to get the claimed 84 bhp
and adds lower grunt on the torque, gonna have me a look into the variations of the twin air and what could possibly be added to them power wise
