hey all

having some issures removing the top part of the rear seats...

got the bottom bit off fine, took the middle bolts of the top half out, now the ones on the sides wont come undone?

the mounts on the side, where there is two bolts going through, the bolts are just spinning, not coming undone... anyone else had this issue?

how do i resolve it?

cheers :D

When youve taken it all out,let me know what you think of the sound.I cant make my mind up whether to put the seats back in or not,can hear every little bump in the road now.

I loved it from the moment I took them out, since then has disposed of everything (apart form the bench thats sitting around) so I can't put it all back in even if I wanted too :D.

Once the rear braces are done and in, i'll be very happy.

Did you check to see if the nuts had broken the weld?

Thanks

I would like a rear strut brace, the back end doesnt feel quite as tight(snigger) as it used to,im guessing the seats were adding to the structural rigidity.I think ill like it more when ive put in new bushes, suspension and a new exhaust, that way im hoping ill have less squeaks and rattles.

the problem is that there arent any rear struts to brace luke, all the suspension parts are on the beam under the boot floor, and if you think about it or see a pic of the complete rear beam [see eper] the weight is quite low in the car helping to achieve a lower centre of gravity

once you have lowered it and have stiffer springs, you might find it much better

I have thought recently about having a rear ARB [will help stop roll LOADS I reckon], I saw a pic of somebody elses on this forum not long ago, but struggling to find it now

New bushes and shocks should sort the knocking out. you'll aslo hear if your rear wheel bearings are nakered.

Ive never had a reart brace fitted, i did get half way through making one tho, ill see if i can find the bits and finish it off for you.
A proper rear brace(cage:p) makes a hell of a differance, even without door bars. I removed an OMP cage from my old rally cinq and it felt really sloppy round the corners even tho the car was on KW coilover kit and polybushed all round

You will be wanting to look for the 1368 track day cinq. That has a cut and shut anti roll bar.

I was looking at the TRS anti roll bar, but i've not had much luck talking to them about making more of them.

I'm going to try and make a pair of interior braces sometime this year, one that bolts to the lower seat fixing then another that bolts to the upper seat mounting.

Not sure if they will make any difference in terms of rear flex, but if not then i'll be crossing them off for added extra stiffness.

Thanks

Get s rear cinq bench, cut it off at the bottom :D. Wala you got a rear brace!

You should able to get 899 bench really cheap. I'll used one for a while till i made one proper. So anyone wants it pm me :0.
