Hi all hopeing someone might enlighten me as not to sure but i fear my wife has just done some very nasty damage to our little cinq sporting by not checking the oil..........she has just arrived home after doing approx 140 miles and comes in and says
" the cars making a funny noise as i got off the motorway sounds like a football croud cheering inside the car"
so i went outside to investigate checked altenator exhaust etc etc but to no avail so switched off engine and left to cool then went out to check oil and did not even show up on dipstick so am i correct in thinking that there's a possibility that she has scored the piston liner and that is what is making the noise?which might be a good thing as is good excuse to put in a 1242!! but shhh don't tell her that! but whats the cost of a 1242 engine nowadays?and does anyone have one just lying around under the seat cushion in the living room or behind the washing up bowl in the kitchen they might be interesed in selling?
