Hi all,
Just wondering if some of you could give me a general idea of insurance costs for a Cinq SX.
Briefly, I'm 35 yrs old,new driver classification,10,000 annual mileage,TPF&T,and I'm getting quotes around the £1220 mark for my SX.
Somehow I find this horrendous? or have things changed that much on the insurance front? Considering they value it at £1000 & give me an excess from £150 - £450 (various companies)I feel thats a bit nasty.
I see lots of overtime looming for the next 12 months lol
Thanx in advance

regards.....cj

Try getting a quote from Tescos website they seem pretty cheap or alternativly phone HIC on 08451 290290, a couple of us (me included) are insured with them and they are very resonable

My car cost £3500 and for me (TPF&T, 17yrs old) it was going to cost me £12##

That was with CIS Insurance. Luckily for me my dad has let me go on his insurance, for £800. :)

im with CIS, 20yo, years no claims and a claim and my insurance is £1000 fully comp, CIS start you off with a years no claims anyway. If your a new driver and have bee driving for less than a year have u thought about the pass plus scheme with CIS it is equvilent to 2 years no claims discount

That is fairly bad, I have a 93' SX and my first year was £1300 (Im 18) and that was TPFT. with a £450 excess -:D

My 2nd year is a bit better - £1000 Fully Comp thru' a specialist student insurer[?] and that was £200 off any other quote I had, but still the gorgeous £450 excess!!

It has to be the new driver classification, as if it isnt i will be never be able to afford to run this once i finish uni!

I'm a new driver, 22, and have a 97 sporting. My insurance is £430 approx TPFT. Although I did do my pass plus (£80). The company let me take out the insurance and gave me 2 months to complete my pass plus. My excess is £100. For a normal sporting (mine is an import) or an SX this figure was considerably cheaper, so I don't understand all the expensive quotes here. My insurance is with Provident, through an agent called Quoteacar.com. They are also known as Hyperformance. I got lower quotes from Hill House Hammond, Budget and a few others but they wouldn't insure me for an import (completely UK spec). It's worth shopping around and doing loads of online quotes, As my first lot were around the £1000 mark. Confused.com are good though.

Any1 tryied morethan.co.uk? 2yr no claims 21 male fully comp with £350 excess = £370 - cheap! Engine mods not allowed.

Im 20 years old and I drive a 98 Cinq Sporting. I pay £1300 a year fully comp on my own insurance. I havnt got any no claims bonus though. Thats through Tesco, it was the cheapest, I have had quotes up to about £2000!

Im a newly qualified driver (20) insured under my Pop with Norwich Union, (Quote me happy!); both of us on my 96 Cinq Sporting is £435 fully comp with £250 excess. I was looking for ages and this is by far the best i found, next in line however was indeed tescos who everyone else i know is insured with! Norwich Union have been fantastic to my family sorting out claims and courtesy cars etc... highly recommended! Quotes available online at www.quotemehappy.com.

Hello I am a newbie. I own a red 95 chinqe SX which is called miss fluffy cat. A friend of mine told me about this site and thought I would have a look. I am surprised about the insurance I'm 38 and have been a drink driver x 2 and my insurance F.C. in first year was £630 with insureyourmotor, 2nd year going down to £420 - bargain!! Don't know where you lot are going to!!

You might have to bite the bullet and just pay up. After a couple of years the premium should drop dramatically, especially as you're 35.

It's well worth looking round. The AA and RAC do some good schemes, especially if you're a member. I'm not, but fully-comp for a Panda 1000 CL came to £124.

(Mind you, I'm 50, been driving for 33 years and have 10+ years no-claims)

And my boys eat fluffy cats for breakfast ;)
