Hello, slight issue has come up
I dropped a bolt when changing my thermo stat
Possibly went into bell housing hole
Drove and now the clutch is stuck depressed
The pedal is on the floor
The cable and lever are in the normal positions
(n)

Any ideas where it is stuck? Between the plates?
Cheers

your probably only gonna find out by taking the box off. but i dont think its gone between the plates.. my bet would be the release bearing
I it could be that, how hard is it to take the box off? I've got a crane and plenty of tools

Hi

Craig is probably correct, but I'd start plus gas A on bolts at bottom of struts now, and remove the clutch bottom plate to see if you can see anything real difficult axess even with dental mirror.

When you have the box out check the thrust bearing lever and its bushes is in as new condition replace otherwise.

The clutch diaphram will be impressively worn replace.

right i took the gearbox off and the bolt fell out, i think the clutch is still ok
Only a few issues have come up, the car now steers to the left slightly
I have swapped the front wheels over the try even the wear out

Also the oil light has come on, oil level is ok, and pressure seems fine as the cam is covered.
It is also not getting hot, the heater isnt warm and the engine temp gets quite high
Also the clutch wasnt disengaging, so i tightened the cable and it is now too high.

OK, One at a time.

Has the steering situation changed since you took the box out?

Check the switch and wiring weren't damaged when you dropped the engine to get the box out.

It is getting hot, the temp gauge says so, how is the coolant level? Has the level changed since last week's check?

Are you sure the release bearing is in the right place, the tines are intact, and that the cable is not splitting. Loosen the cable a bit to check what happens.

Cheers

Erm..

Has the steering situation changed since you took the box out?

Yes , it steered straight and true until i done the work, only change i made was to swap the wheels over.

Check the switch and wiring weren't damaged when you dropped the engine to get the box out.

Will check them, it was on last week, had a big piece of stripped wire exposed, heat wrapped it and it was ok for a few days.

It is getting hot, the temp gauge says so, how is the coolant level? Has the level changed since last week's check?

The coolant level is constantly checked, it is fine until it gets to 90 and starts steaming... heater doesn't get hot and the big pipe goes rock hard with pressure?

I adjusted the cable and that is sorted now, must have over tightened the nut on the end two turns(y)

Nice one for any help:)

Righto:)
i'll give them a go in a little bit, hopefuly resolves the issue.
should i chop the dodgy section out the wire?

Chopped the dodgy wiring out, the oil light still comes on

The oil light comes on as soon as the engine starts, lights up dull then gets brighter then stays bright
Gonna get a replacement switch tomorrow from the scrappy

The overheating is sorted, changed the coolant tank and cap:)
Swapped wheels over and the steering is straight now
