Anyone tried to put 6x9'' speakers into Seicento as FRONT speakers? I'm thinking about JBL GT5-963. I don't want to use them as rear speakers because the sound will be much worse. I just want two nice big speakers in front of me, so I'm trying to figure out how to do it.

Yeah, I know, pretty crazy idea :D Thanks for any help :)

probably best place would be in the door

You would obviously have to modify your doorcards to accomodate

What i would do is get hold of a cheap doorcard and have a go at measuring it out and making some sort of a template, see if it all fits before butchering your own doorcard

I made rear side cards from 12mm ply. You can keep your old cards for when you want to sell the car.

I took original ones out and drew around them. Cut profile & speaker holes with a fine tooth jigsaw blade. Smoothed edges, primed & sprayed matt black.

I glued foam around the edge of the hole so the ply would not be free to rattle - maybe not needed, see next line.

I mounted them with countersunk machine screws (only 3 needed as the ply bows into the middle and is very well secured).

These give a really good sound as the rear cavity is completely enclosed. Don't get grilles that stick out too far or else you'll foul the folding rear seat backs.
