i would if it had a speedo cable but it works off electronic device i cant remember the name of it

Eh?

Are we to assume that we aren't talking about standard speedos?

the speedo works electronicaly it has a unit on the gear box that sends a signal to the speedo and that tells it how fast it is going i just dont no where it is im gonna have a look 2mora

There are 2 types of speedo on the seicento:
the normal cable type (1999 and before)
and
electronic type (late 1999-onwards)

you can tell the difference as on the cable type there is a VERTICAL fuel gauge, and on the electronic type there is a HORIZONTAL furl gauge

hope this helps

Right I don't have a sei myself - so this is just general - I don't know if they apply or not.
Have you checked that any connections are clean and tight? Road dirt may have been the cause.
Is there any damage that you can see?
Is there a separate sensor that could have failed?
I can't think of anything else. Maybe someone with a late sei would be more helpful.

Hi,
Is you gearbox earth cable all present and correct, may be getting a bad earth to the sensor if its loose, broken or corroded.

Thanks
