Hi,
I have just removed my sparkplug from my 899cc Cinquecento, as the car was starting very lazily when it was cold. Haynes manual suggested to check the gap in the spark plugs.
When i removed the 1st spark plug, it appears that the thread in the head has come out with it, I just thought it was some gunk in the plug.
I cleaned it out, cleaned and regapped the plug and it now won't go back in as there is no thread in the head.
What can I do??
Helicoil - costings if any idea?
New head - Costings?
I wont be able to do this myself as I am not that mechanically minded, so costings are important.

Getting it Heli-Coiled tomorrow. They will look at the 1 spark plug that i know is busted, and also check the other 3.
£60 for 1 plug
£120 for 4 plugs
Hope she is alright afterwards

I didn't realise it could be done so cheaply... This place was the only 1 I could find that would do it with the head still on the car. The many others i have spoken to all wanted to strip the engine down and remove the head, because of the gunk going into the engine.
The garage I am going to get a specialist in to do it which carries out a £50 call out, then an extra £10 per sparkplug thread + new sparkplugs, as they might not have been changed for a while.
I was tempted to buy a kit off ebay myself, as i know that they are quite cheap, but i didn't feel comfortable doing the doing myself.
At least if anything goes wrong, i can take it back.

Hi

Autos are expensive to run.
You need a course in car maintenance, or a better paid job.
