What will happen if i drive my car and there is something wrong with the cambelt?

I need to get it home and then to the garage tonight.

Will this damage it?

8v engines are safe, if it brakes no damage will happen, but you will breakdown,

didnt u say you've just had it changed? it shouldnt be the cause of the noise. that'll be the alternator belt.

or the tensinoer on the cambelt, which should have been changed when the belt was done

but yeah as dave says, safe engine - nothing will break
