We buy salavge cars and we have been approached by a guy who lost his key with a car and asked if we would buy it for £200 pound

Anyway we collected it and before monday gets here and we visit the dealers

Any advice, We need a new key for the car, its a VERY tidy car we cant scrap it

we are into the car no problem as we have a lock out kit and lock out man

Whats your thoughts

If its MPi, its scrap.

If its SPi, rechip it.

As rally has said If its MPI (Oct 2000-04) it will cost about the same as what you have paid for it to get a new key sorted hence why you would scrap it and possibly break it

you could just get the ecu, code box, Ariel keys and locks with the ignition barrel if it is that good

yes this is the one i won on ebay, and the guy bloody scrapped it before the auction ended i said to him i wanted the car, key or not as it was comming back on a trailer, just aslong as its logbook not been sent of as scrapped, and the doors not rippled and steering lock not snapped to bits im still interested in it.

There is some new equipment out now that can do adding new keys to the Fiat body computer without going via the diags and ecu. Cost about $200 made in China I guess. Thought about getting one, if I can without buying 20!
