Hi,

I only need a car for a year so I decided to treat myself and spend about what it would cost to put my 1992 Pug 106 through its MOT (+ clutch and driveshaft) The list of potential buys became - Cinq, Classic Mini with the Mini being just too expensive.

I have owned 3 fiats in the past (2x127 and a 1000 classic Panda) Every time I have replaced them with a 'better' car and regretted it. Now I saw that the number of Cinqs out there is dropping quite quickly so when one came up locally I bought it straight away. It's a 1997 899 'S' with FIAT alloys and low miles.I wanted a sporting but settled for this one.

One month later my journey to work is quicker by 10 minutes each way as the car 'makes progress'. I park on a city street and now I can park in those 'non spaces' that other cars can't fit and I save 5 minutes walk each way every day.

Unless the whole family is going out together we use 'Buzz', I smile when driving and the kids love it. My wife ( ex 126 and classic Panda 750 owner ) borrowed the car and came back laughing.


All for £400.

'Buzz' is 'Buzz' due to me pottering about Hammeriting bits of the underside. Every time I opened the tin it attracted wasps!

cinqs are a horrible little car!!!!!!!

they steal your heart and run off with it and hide it so you cant leave and have an affair with another car lol

Me too, more modern cars feel 'dead', with everything being power assisted and all their posh noise insulation

Fun to drive and even a (standard) Sporting in good health returns 41.5mpg combined city/open roads

get a seicento that way you have features of a modern car aswell as the standard things of a cinq

sei's are for girls and people that care too much what people say when they look at you in a car

cinq's are for men and real drivers

give me a half rotten cinq any day over a mint sei

you can fix rot but you cant change the way a sei looks............oh wait you can, by getting it crushed

only times ive seen sei's about is when they're driven by girls,the cinq is a true mans car lol

My daughter is about to learn to drive and wouldnt entertain driving my old 106 and certainly not a Sei.

She is more than happy to drive the Cinq.

At the weekend I discovered my next door neighbour's son is a pretty accomplished TIG welder so I think this Cinq will be on the road for a while longer

the longer its on the road the better,i intend to keep mine going til it falls apart into a thousand pieces

You wouldn't see a girl driving my Sei atleast .

I've seen a fair few more guys driving Sei's around since mine coming back on the road (maybe just me noticing though), more old lasses driving cinqs.

like i say each to their own but do you not think that your car todge in your area they are thinking "wow then seicentos are rapid, i want one" kind of thing i dont know i might be wrong lol

just personally i would have a sei cos i dont actually like anything about the way they are styled indide or out
